SmarTone-Vodafone to offer TransferTo international mobile top-up solution

TransferTo, the global mobile airtime transfer company, today announced that it is joining forces with SmarTone-Vodafone, a partner network of the Vodafone Group, to offer mobile stored value recharge top-up service for Indonesian and Filipino clients of SmarTone-Vodafone.

Indonesian and Filipino migrant workers using the dedicated ethnic mobile service, branded Sahabat Setia SmarTone and Bakardahan sa SmarTone, under SmarTone-Vodafone may now recharge the prepaid mobile service of their relatives back home in Indonesia and the Philippines. To perform a top-up, the sender needs to enter USSD code *112* followed by the amount and destination number. Transaction is processed in real-time through the TransferTo secure platform.

The solution is mainly offered to foreign communities and international workers who maintain strong ties with their families and relatives abroad. Although they send part of their earnings every month directly to the household head, they still lack an appropriate service for sending smaller amounts to the rest of their family. TransferTo comes as the perfect solution for giving out airtime recharge as a gift on special occasions such as birthdays, festivals or celebrations.
